Police officers detained two men (aged 25 and 19), residents of Nowogrodziec gmina. Both are suspected of breaking into the fuel tanks of trucks eight times. Officers determined that, between September and November this year, the detainees stole more than 1,000 litres of diesel fuel (worth approximately PLN 5,000). They drained the fuel into containers, which they then transported by motorcycle with a trailer to their hideout, and subsequently sold it to drivers they happened to meet.
The men confessed to the offences. One of them had previously been in conflict with the law. Both now face up to 10 years in prison.
