The Ocice Singing Ensemble is 35 years old! On this occasion, on 16 November in Ocice, Bolesławiec Municipality Head Andrzej Dutkowski presented four group members with the ministerial “Meritorious for Polish Culture” decorations: Helena Karaban, Apolonia Klimek, Stefania Struś and Paweł Karaban. All ensemble members received flowers and gifts.
Among those who congratulated the artists from Ocice were Municipal Council Chairman Bogusław Uziej, Deputy Municipality Head Roman Jaworski, Treasurer Franciszek Popek, Municipality Secretary Iwona Przybylska, and Chairman of the Culture, Sport, Health and Social Affairs Committee Henryk Borucki.
Village Head Bożena Długosz and members of the Ocice Village Council prepared a surprise for the ensemble—a framed photograph with a list of all the ensemble’s members since the beginning of its activity.
The anniversary celebrations were enhanced by the dance and music performance “We’re Coming Back,” presented by the Bolesławiec Land Song and Dance Ensemble. Elżbieta Tor and Sławomir Ratajski, the creators of the performance, and the members of the ZPiT ensemble received a standing ovation.
