The arrest took place on the night of 6–7 November in one of the car parks in Gromadka Municipality. Police officers from Kruszyn noticed a passenger car moving among lorries. The driver of the car turned out to be a 36-year-old resident of Gromadka Municipality. In the boot of his car, the officers found containers filled with stolen fuel.
The police officers noticed an oil stain beside one of the TIR lorries. It emerged that the theft had been committed by the TIR driver, a 32-year-old resident of the Silesian Voivodeship, who sold 120 litres of diesel fuel to the 36-year-old for PLN 400. What is more, the officers established that a similar transaction had taken place in October this year. At that time, the 32-year-old sold a resident of our county 100 litres of diesel fuel for the same price.
The officers recovered fuel worth PLN 700. Both detainees face a sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
