The ceremony marking National Education Day is now behind us. It took place on Friday, October 11, in the assembly hall of II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Janusza Korczaka in Bolesławiec. Mirosław Sakowski, the school’s principal, spoke: “In contemporary Poland, October 14 is the day on which we thank teachers for their work. Dear colleagues, you have surely already received wishes and expressions of appreciation from your students; now it is my turn. I thank you for your understanding, patience, kindness and warmth toward your students. For being creative and innovative, full of ideas and interesting initiatives.”
Seven teachers received awards from the principal of II LO: Anna Bowszys, Beata Ulatowska, Anna Sas, Dorota Kurowska, Mieczysław Szwed, Iwona Florkowska and Krzysztof Malina. Meanwhile, teachers Edyta Gawlik-Lippik and Katarzyna Kwaśniewska will receive the Award of the Bolesławiec County Board.
The management of II LO also thanked the Parents’ Council: Kazimiera Kotwica, Beata Skrzypek, Monika Wawrzynowska and Józef Jędrzejowski.
The ceremony concluded with an artistic program prepared by teacher Izabella Daniel and the school’s students. Once again, it turned out that Gombrowicz’s prose has lost none of its relevance (Jakub RajfurJakub Rajfur played the role of Bladaczka from “Ferdydurke” brilliantly). A surprise—enthusiastically received!—for everyone gathered in the school’s assembly hall was a video in which the school’s teachers admitted that great poetry delights them.
