– Third-grade pupils go to the swimming pool every two weeks; last school year, they had lessons every week – says a reader. – The school does not have money for the third grade, but it does for second-graders, because they also started going to the swimming pool in September. We were sure that the third-graders would swim at the Bolesławiec Water Park “Orka” every week. The parents feel wronged.
– The money for the second grades comes from the Municipal Programme for the Prevention and Solving of Alcohol-Related Problems; it is a completely different fund – explains Barbara Dąbrowska-Bugaj, headteacher of Primary School No. 3 in Bolesławiec. – Last year, the third-graders went to the swimming pool more often because the class was smaller. The current third grade has 28 pupils, and one instructor is responsible for 15 people. The third-graders could go to the swimming pool every week, but then they would have to spend 22.5 minutes in the water, which does not seem logical. We do not have additional money for this purpose.
