An 80-year-old resident of Bolesławiec called the police for help. The man was picking mushrooms in the forest, lost his bearings, fell over and was unable to get up. With the help of a forest ranger and thanks to constant telephone contact with the 80-year-old, police officers from Kruszyn found the mushroom picker. The man is now in the care of his family.

The police remind you—if you are going mushroom picking:

  • take a mobile phone, reflective items and a flashlight with you
  • inform your loved ones about the trip and when you intend to return
  • do not take valuables with you (you may lose them)
  • if you are picking mushrooms with children or elderly people, do not lose sight of them
  • remember distinctive features of the forest; they will make it easier to find your way back.
