The Wrocław District Prosecutor’s Office was notified of the crime by one of the hospitals in Wrocław. During the proceedings, it emerged that various institutions – including one of the medical facilities in the capital of Lower Silesia, the Bolesławiec ZOZ and... the Warsaw Metro – had received information by fax or email, allegedly sent by a large cleaning company, about a change in the bank account number to which payment should be made.
As Małgorzata Klaus, spokesperson for the Wrocław District Prosecutor’s Office, told us, the Bolesławiec hospital was defrauded of more than PLN 87,000, while the Wrocław hospital lost PLN 180,000.
The fraudster faces up to 10 years in prison.
