The Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating an accountant at one of the companies in Bolesławiec. The woman misappropriated PLN 250,000. She took advantage of the fact that everyone considered her a good employee. She handled invoices and entered... her own account on transfer orders.
She committed her first fraud in 2011. Further transfers followed, initially for small amounts. The woman became emboldened in 2013. That year, as much as PLN 240,000 was transferred to her account. The employers realized that something was wrong when companies that had not received payment began demanding their money.
The suspect told investigators that she was building a house. She did not finish the construction, and her property was secured by the prosecutor’s office. The woman will soon appear in court. She faces up to 10 years in prison.
