The opening of the post-symposium exhibition will take place on August 23 at 8:00 p.m. in Bolesławiec Market Square, in a gallery specially built for the exhibition beneath a dome.
The 49th International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Bolesławiec took place in June. This year's Symposium Commissioner was Mateusz Grobelny. The artistic consultant was Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter.
As part of the symposium, sixteen artists from various parts of the world—Mexico, the USA, Austria, France, Belarus, Ukraine, Italy, Spain and Poland—worked for four weeks at Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec” Sp. z o.o. in Bolesławiec, „Ceramika Artystyczna” Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego in Bolesławiec, and Fabryka Naczyń Kamionkowych „Manufaktura” Sp. J. Smoleński & Zwierz in Bolesławiec.
During this time, with the participation of residents and visitors, three artist talks and multimedia presentations were held, during which the symposium participants presented their artistic achievements, as well as two exhibitions showcasing trends in ceramic art. The symposium began with the opening of the exhibition “3 Worlds” by the Ceramic Student Research Group of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. It concluded with the opening of the exhibition of ceramic works “My Cities” by Edyta Orlińska. As usual, a catalog of the post-symposium exhibition was published to promote and document the participants' month-long work.
The 49th International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium was attended by ceramic artists: Maria Eugenia Belden Rangel, Kazimierz Kalkowski, Stephanie Young, Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter, Daniel Wetzelberger, Marion Devillers, Hanna Ambrosava, Barbara Fazender, Kinga Ogórek, Larysa Antonova, Sophie Masłowski, Abdon Zani, Władysław Garnik, Julien Djedaoua-Innocenti, Marc Iturri Torrellas, Mateusz Grobelny.
The International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Bolesławiec is being held as part of the ARGINET project, co-financed by the European Union under the Culture Programme.
The project aims to promote dialogue and intercultural exchange in Europe through a system of innovative international cooperation activities involving cultural operators in the ceramics sector. The implementation of the project will enable greater mobility and the transnational development of the partners' achievements and experience in the fields of artistic ceramics and ceramic crafts. ARGINET proposes introducing, within the existing network of events, an exchange and development programme promoting the participation of artists and ceramic activities on a European scale.
