Many guests came to Ocice near Bolesławiec from surrounding towns, including many people from Bolesławiec. The park in Ocice was very cheerful and colorful. The colorful pumpkins of various shapes clearly indicated what the festival was about.
Competitions and stage performances were held. These included a pairs’ pumpkin-rolling contest, pumpkin dancing, and competitions for the largest pumpkin and the tastiest pumpkin dish. Folk groups performed on stage. They included the Jutrzenka Municipal Song and Dance Ensemble, the Singing Ensemble from Ocice, and children from the Primary School in Ocice. The stall where visitors could buy symbols of the Ocice festival was also quite popular. The second Pumpkin Festival ended with a dance party.
The organizers of the festival were the Rural Housewives’ Circle in Ocice and the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn.
