On 15 August 2026, the regional celebrations of Polish Army Day were held in Legnica. The ceremony was attended, among others, by soldiers of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment from Bolesławiec, who provided the Military Honor Guard and a significant part of the column of soldiers.
Soldiers of the 3rd Wrocław Radio-Technical Brigade also took part in the celebrations.
One of the important moments of the ceremony was the presentation to soldiers of appointment documents for their next, higher military ranks. Decorations and letters of congratulations were also presented.
After the roll call of remembrance was read and an honor salvo was fired, the soldiers, together with the numerous residents of Legnica who had gathered, sang the “Representative Song of the Polish Army”.
The subunits were then reorganized into a marching formation. To the sound of “Warszawianka”, the soldiers paraded through Legnica’s Market Square.
Homar-K and other modern equipment
Apart from the official part of the celebrations, residents of Legnica could take a close look at the contemporary equipment of the Polish Army.
The 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment from Bolesławiec presented a Homar-K rocket launcher. Soldiers of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade from Świętoszów also displayed their equipment, including the KTO Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carrier and an MRAP vehicle. The 3rd Wrocław Radio-Technical Brigade also prepared its own display.
The “Cyklop” trainer also attracted considerable interest. Promotional stands were also operating on site, including those prepared by the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment and the Military Recruitment Center in Głogów.
The celebrations were an opportunity not only to pay tribute to Polish soldiers, but also for residents to meet the military more closely and see its contemporary capabilities.
The Bolesławiec unit: – Thank you to everyone who was there with us on this important day for the soldiers. See you!
