During the Treasure Hunters’ Parade, employees of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramic Centre handed out leaflets with the programme of the August event as they paraded. In addition, on Sunday, the main stage presented the most interesting events of the Ceramic Festival and invited participants of Lwówek Summer to Bolesławiec.
This year’s nineteenth Ceramic Festival will feature a rich programme and many attractive events. A ceramic fair will be held in the Market Square from 21 to 25 August. A rich artistic programme has been prepared for 23–25 August.
A Ceramic Animation Town will be created, featuring demonstrations of wheel throwing and painting ceramic forms, where everyone will have the chance to try their hand at creating clay products. As tradition dictates, a spectacular ceramic kiln will be built and fired. A colourful antiques fair will also be held. On Friday, the official opening will begin with a spectacular Ceramic Parade, whose theme is ceramics.
On Friday, the Polish-Lemko-Ukrainian band LemON, winner of the third edition of the programme Must Be The Music Tylko Muzyka, will perform on the main stage, followed a little later by Haydamaky, Ukraine’s export product. The evening will conclude with a spectacular performance of light, dance and acrobatics, “Pieśń Bugajów”, performed by actors from Teatru AVATAR.
On Saturday, we particularly recommend the concert of 1960s music, “Where Have Those House Parties Gone?”. It will feature hits by Czesław Niemen, Karin Stanek, Kasia Sobczyk, Czerwono Czarni, Anna Jantar and Krzysztof Klenczon. Piotr Szczepanik will add lustre to the concert. The evening’s star will be the group Legendy UK and Alan Silson ex Smokie. The day will end with an open-air cinema under the stars.
Everyone in Bolesławiec on Sunday will be able to enjoy a performance by the band Arka Noego. Later, Hania Stach will perform a programme paying tribute to Whitney Houston. The event will conclude with Paweł Kukiz and a new line-up of musicians under the name Kukiz. The concert programme will include the best-known songs, including O, Hela!!!, Zośka, Całuj Mnie, Miasto Budzi Się, Na Falochronie and Old Punk.
