On 12 June, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman signed a contract for the collection and management of municipal waste from owners of properties inhabited within Bolesławiec. The contract was signed in accordance with the outcome of the tender procedure.
From 1 July 2013, municipal waste from the city will be collected by Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej Sp. z o.o. in Bolesławiec. The contract was concluded for the period from 1 July 2013 to 31 December 2015. The value of the work during the contractual period is PLN 12,755,880.
MZGK will be responsible for collecting and managing municipal waste from the city of Bolesławiec, as well as establishing and operating a selective waste collection point.
The contract requires municipal waste to be collected continuously (between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.), according to the schedule adopted for collection and using vehicles adapted to collect individual waste fractions, in a manner that prevents selectively collected waste and separately collected municipal waste from being mixed with mixed municipal waste.
In addition, MZGK is required to collect all municipal waste accumulated in containers or bags (the property owner provides the waste containers or bags) placed by property owners in front of the property or at waste collection sites (bin shelters) that meet the following requirements:
- Unsorted municipal waste will be collected in grey or graphite-coloured containers, with the following provisions:
- the capacity will range from 110 l to 1,100 l; the use of container units with capacities from 1,100 l to 20,000 l is permitted
- 80-litre containers are also permitted in single-family housing for households of no more than two people, as well as 60-litre containers in non-residential buildings
- Sorted municipal waste—paper, metal, plastics, glass packaging and composite packaging—will be collected in containers or bags (the property owner provides the waste containers or bags) with a capacity of at least 120 l, using the following colour scheme:
- paper, waste paper and composite packaging will be collected in blue containers or bags for selective collection
- plastics and metal will be collected in yellow containers or bags for selective collection
- glass and glass packaging will be collected in green containers or bags for selective collection
- collection of expired medicines accumulated in containers placed in pharmacies throughout the city of Bolesławiec
- collection of used batteries accumulated in containers placed at designated points throughout the city of Bolesławiec
- collection of bulky waste at the contracting authority’s request, within 48 hours of the request
- collection of bulky waste twice a year (in spring and autumn).
