The Trade Union Movement Memorial Chamber is to be located in Solidarność’s current headquarters at 5 Karpecka Street. To this end, the city sold the premises to the existing tenant. The Jelenia Góra Region Board of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union Solidarność purchased the premises from the city through a non-tender procedure. In addition, councillors decided to sell it with a 99% discount because the Memorial Chamber will serve an educational and instructional role.
The union authorities want to establish cooperation with schools. The Chamber’s activities will not be commercial, so anyone interested will be able to learn about the history of the trade union movement in our region.
