On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Polish emigration to Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, the councillors thanked the emigrants for preserving their national identity outside Poland’s borders. The councillors stressed that 130 years ago Poland disappeared from the map of Europe, yet despite this, Poles living in Brazil preserved their national traditions.
The commemoration of the 130th anniversary of Polish emigration to Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil took place thanks to the personal involvement of Krzysztof Syrycki. Krzysztof studies history at the University of Wrocław. He is a resident of Łaziska. For two years, he has been interested in the Brazilian Polonia and the Portuguese language.
