The matter was reported during the March session of the Bolesławiec City Council by President Piotr Roman: “About a year ago, I spoke about the possibility of creating a shelter based at the Border Guard Service Dog Training Centre in Lubań. Thanks to the efforts of Osiecznica Commune Head Waldemar Nalazek and Bolesławiec Secretary Jerzy Zieliński, we can become a partner in this project.”
The shelter will be located in Platerówka near Lubań. It will be established by the Kwisa Municipalities Association. If the Municipality of Bolesławiec participates in the project, it will be able to house 40 homeless dogs in Platerówka. “In our assessment, this should be enough,” the president stressed.
“We would have to allocate PLN 160,000 annually for this purpose,” Piotr Roman continued. “However, I believe this is a better solution than building a shelter in Bolesławiec, which would cost approximately PLN 2 million. The Municipality’s costs will indeed increase, but we will solve the problem. We are here to comply with regulations. At last, we could have a proper shelter that we would not have to be ashamed of.”
We will return to this matter.
