The “Sun Salutation” exhibition is open from 25 March to 23 April 2013. On Monday (8 April) at 6:00 p.m., workshops and meetings with the artist will be held. During the workshops, participants will be able to make a linocut matrix and make their own print on handmade paper produced at the Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki Zdrój.
The prints from the “Sun Salutation” series are the artist’s latest linocuts, created in 2012. The works mark a turn towards spirituality. They contain numerous symbols characteristic of Eastern religion. The title “Sun Salutation” itself refers to one of the asanas (postures) in yoga. There is a clear pursuit of harmony between body and soul, and an opening of the mind to new possibilities. In addition, examples of the matrices from which the works presented at the exhibition were printed are on display.
