Bolesławiec police carried out the “Seat Belts” operation on 15 March. Officers paid particular attention to whether drivers and passengers were wearing their seat belts. The results are not encouraging. Officers checked 130 cars. As many as 99 people were travelling without their seat belts fastened (including 90 drivers).
Police remind drivers: seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while travelling. Half of those killed in road accidents could be alive if they had been wearing their seat belts at the moment of the collision.
