The first edition of the German Language Competition “Spass mit Deutsch”, aimed at fourth- to sixth-grade primary school students, is now behind us. The organizers and originators of the competition were Małgorzata Dyr and Katarzyna Szymczykowska, German teachers at Miejski Zespół Szkół No. 3 in Bolesławiec.
The interschool stage, held on March 13, was opened by Bolesławiec Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz and the headmistress of MZS No. 3, Irena Sikora-Kołodyńska.
The contestants faced tasks not only involving Goethe’s language, but also concerning the geography and culture of German-speaking countries. The event took the form of a quiz featuring German songs and films.
The team from Primary School No. 3 won (consisting of: Mateusz Cygan, Zofia Juda, Marika Zdunek and Dominik Pieniądz). The team from Primary School No. 4 took second place (Magdalena Cichorzewska, Dawid Feler, Urszula Borucińska and Marcelina Kuźnik). The hosts’ team came third (Julia Poloczek, Aleksandra Huterska, Maciej Ferlewicz and Łukasz Sawicki).
The prizes were funded by the Mayor of Bolesławiec, the Parents’ Council operating at MZS No. 3, and LektorKlett Publishing House.
