The idea is not new. 16 years ago, on the initiative of Krystyna Bochenek, well-known and lesser-known Polish women named Krystyna met for the first time in Katowice. The popular journalist’s exceptional initiative led not only to nationwide gatherings. In many larger and somewhat smaller towns, women named Kryśka established associations, clubs and circles. Whatever they are called, they brought—and continue to bring—a different, more cheerful atmosphere to social life in various communities. We are ashamed that we were not the first.

We are exceptional women, regardless of whether we are 40 or 70 years old. Younger Krystynas are hard to find. The name itself means “coming from Christ.” Is it worth bearing this increasingly rare name?
Krystyna has an outstanding personality; she is sensitive and possesses a diplomatic sense. Often, with her excessive ambition and prudence, she gets into trouble. She has great ambitions while remaining cautious. She usually emerges from difficulties unscathed, partly thanks to her ability to inspire sympathy and her strong interpersonal skills. She is very sociable and eager to learn about foreign cultures. Therefore, she prefers spending money on distant journeys rather than excessively focusing on accumulating material possessions. She rarely gives in to emotions because of her somewhat phlegmatic disposition. Before taking decisive action, she carefully thinks everything through and draws up a precise plan. So, all the Krychnas, Kryśkas, Krysieńkas, Krystynkas, Krzysias, Kryśkas and Krynies are invited to the first meeting, which will take place on March 13, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at the “Oleńka na Starówce” restaurant (in the Market Square). We want to meet—or recognize one another—define our goals and program of activities. Through our work, we want to serve our Bolesławiec community. We want not only our own lives to become more vibrant. At the group level, synergy is created, allowing us to accomplish more together than each of us could separately.
