After 9:00 a.m., the Bolesławiec Fire Service received a report from the County Police Headquarters that someone had probably drowned in the village of Stara Oleszna. Firefighters from Bolesławiec, a group of divers from the Legnica fire service, police officers and an ambulance crew took part in the search operation. After the victim was recovered, the ambulance doctor pronounced him dead. The man was 40 years old.

The second report of a drowning in Zabobrze, Bolesławiec, came in before 4:00 p.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene, one of the people swimming in the water had pulled the victim ashore. Despite the resuscitation efforts undertaken by the firefighters, it was not possible to revive the 35-year-old man. By the time the ambulance arrived, the doctor could only pronounce him dead.
