The incident occurred outside one of the grocery stores in the centre of Bolesławiec. The owner of the beagle left the dog for a moment and went shopping. When he returned, the four-legged companion was gone.
The owner searched for the dog on his own, but without success. The man notified the police. It turned out that the dog had been stolen by a 32-year-old resident of Bolesławiec.
At the time of his arrest, the 32-year-old was drunk and could not explain why he had committed the theft. He now faces up to 5 years in prison.
