During the winter holidays, on 7 February, the Klinika Lalek Theatre – Wolimierz will perform again in Bolesławiec. It will present the show “The Enchanted Kolomotywa”. This extraordinary, imagination-stimulating performance for children is based on Michael Ende’s fairy tale “Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver”.

The main characters are Luke the Engine Driver and his extraordinary locomotive, Kolomotywa Emma, as well as a little boy named Jim Button. The characters take the children to the island of Trochania, where peace and harmony prevail. Trochania is ruled by the gracious King Ludwig “A Quarter Past Twelve”, faithfully served by Luke the Engine Driver with his locomotive, as well as by his subjects: Mrs Coo and Mr Sleeve.

Life on the island becomes complicated when a Postman arrives with a mysterious parcel. Inside the parcel is a little boy whom the King and his subjects name Jim. When Jim grows up and gradually becomes an adult subject, it turns out that Trochania Island is too small to build a home for another inhabitant.

Luke the Engine Driver and Jim decide to set off into the world aboard Kolomotywa Emma. During their long journey, Luke and Jim must make very difficult decisions and demonstrate great courage and wisdom.

The performance will be staged twice on 7 February: at 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost PLN 13 and are available at the Forum box office.
