On Friday, 21 December, from 12:00 to 15:00, a workshop on making Christmas decorations for children and adults will be held in the building at Mickiewicza Street. The demonstrations will be led by craftspeople from Czechia and Poland, who will teach participants how to make traditional Christmas-tree decorations from the days when there were no supermarkets selling factory-made ornaments straight from China.

In the afternoon, at 15:00, the museum garden will host a musical and dance Nativity play performed by the “Ziemia Bolesławiecka” Song and Dance Ensemble. During the event, the organizers will serve a modest meal featuring traditional dishes served at Christmas on Polish and Czech tables.

The museum is also hosting the exhibition “Around Christmas. Christmas Traditions of the Polish-Czech Borderland”. The exhibition was prepared from the collections of the Krkonoše Museum in Vrchlabí. On display are original Czech handicrafts: Christmas-tree ornaments made of glass, paper and even sugar, old Christmas cards and commemorative pictures. A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to the famous Czech Nativity scenes. The exhibition presents Christmas traditions and customs cultivated for centuries on the Czech side of the Krkonoše Mountains. They sometimes differ significantly from Polish customs, making them all the more worth getting to know.

Admission to the exhibition and participation in the demonstrations and workshops are free of charge. These activities are carried out as part of the project “Gardens of Living Tradition – Protecting the Common Heritage of the Polish-Czech Borderland”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme of Cross-Border Cooperation Czech Republic–Poland 2007–2013.
