On Thursday, 20 December, at 7:00 p.m., the premiere of a feature film made by young people working in the film workshop of the cultural centre will take place. The new film, entitled “Negative,” tells the story of Adrian—a teenager who has lost his mother. After her death, he is raised by his father, who cannot cope. The roles of parent and child are reversed. In the film, the creators ask whether the protagonist will be able to bear the burden of the family tragedy and help his father.
The film, from the initial idea through production, was made by young people participating in film workshops. Work continued for several months. The scenes were filmed in Bolesławiec and Lwówek Sląski.
“I am very pleased with the young people’s work and commitment to this project,” says Michał Szwed, the workshop supervisor. “The premiere at Forum cinema will be a reward for the enormous amount of work they put into making the film.”
The young filmmakers are eagerly awaiting the premiere. “I hope there will be a good turnout and that the story we have told will provide the audience with an enjoyable evening,” says Szymon Wasylów, the film’s director.
Anyone interested in film who would like to participate in the production of further projects by the Film Education Workshop operating at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre-International Ceramics Centre can sign up for the workshops. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the cinema foyer.
