Admissions and Educational Offering
On September 1, 2013, two free Catholic schools run by the Piarist Order will begin operating in Bolesławiec. They will be a Public Primary School and a Public Lower-Secondary School. Both institutions will be located in the school building at 10 Bankowa Street, which the Order will lease from the city. The building will be modernized and adapted by the Piarists to contemporary requirements for effective and attractive education.
Admissions for the 2013/2014 school year will be conducted simultaneously for classes at several levels. At the primary school, the opening of first-, second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-grade classes is planned. In the lower-secondary school, first- and second-grade classes will be opened. The Order will introduce significant innovations at both institutions. At the primary school, the Piarists will expand the standard timetable required by education regulations and introduce additional classes. In early primary education, class groups will be limited to 20 students to ensure effective educational support. Additional homeroom hours will be introduced to supplement and develop students’ abilities, along with an extra hour of corrective gymnastics and music classes. In grades 4–6, class groups will have no more than 22 students; from fifth grade, an additional foreign language will be taught, and the number of Polish, mathematics and history lessons will be increased. Extracurricular activities, interest clubs and school groups where students can spend their time attractively after lessons will complement the Piarist offering for primary-school students.
At the lower-secondary school, class groups will have a maximum of 22 students. The standard timetable required by education regulations will be expanded with additional classes. Polish and mathematics lessons will be held for more hours; biology, chemistry and geography will be taught in groups; and two foreign languages will be taught at two levels. Subject clubs will be available to students wishing to expand their knowledge and skills. The proposed afternoon activities in interest clubs and subject consultation hours will further broaden the educational offering. Lower-secondary students will also be able to participate in school groups, such as charitable and music groups, which will provide an opportunity to further develop their abilities and commitment to the good of others. Students at the institution run by the Piarist Order will be required to wear a school uniform. The Piarists declare that students will receive their first uniform as a gift from the school.
