A one-month practical placement is a statutory requirement for municipal officers who have previously completed training. "By July 15, the officers will complete their practical placement, during which they will become thoroughly familiar with the city’s districts. These districts will later constitute their patrol areas," explains Emil Zając, Commander of the Municipal Police in Bolesławiec.
Eight people work in the municipal police force. On August 1, another four will join them. The budget currently available to the municipal police does not allow for the purchase of a car. The officers will patrol the city using bicycles. For now, the Bolesławiec Municipal Police has no communications system, as arrangements with foreign neighbors concerning the radio frequency are still underway. For the time being, the officers will use mobile phones.
