The incident occurred overnight from Sunday to Monday. Before one o'clock, a 40-year-old man climbed onto the viaduct and called the police. He said that he wanted to commit suicide but did not want to reveal where he was. However, the duty officer managed to persuade the desperate man to say where he was. Firefighters, an ambulance and the police were sent to the scene.
Under the viaduct, at the spot where the man was standing, firefighters deployed an air rescue cushion. At one point, the man climbed over the barrier and hung on the edge of the viaduct. The firefighters then managed to move the rescue cushion into the right position. After several seconds, the man fell. Fortunately, onto the air cushion. The ambulance took him to hospital.
