Young people from lower-secondary schools, city and county authorities, and people deported to Siberia marched through the streets of Bolesławiec to the Siberians Monument. A ceremony commemorating the fate of the deportees was held there.
The ceremony’s motto was: “Let us jointly honor the memory and indomitable spirit of Those who became our teachers and guides through the pages of the tragic history of the deportees.”
The Day of the Siberians observances were held with the participation of soldiers from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment. The ceremony was organized by the Bolesławiec Branch of the Siberians Association and Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 2 named after Poles Deported to Siberia in Bolesławiec.
