The incident occurred during the night of September 15–16 on one of the streets in Bolesławiec. The 20-year-old resident of Bolesławiec set fire to four passenger cars. The man confessed. He was drunk when he started the fires.
The losses were estimated at approximately PLN 12,000. The 20-year-old had already come into conflict with the law—several months earlier, he had been convicted of setting fire to rubbish bins in the city. He was wanted because he had not served his three-and-a-half-year sentence.
He faces up to five years in prison for property damage.
