The incident occurred on Monday, August 20, on the Bolesławiec bypass, near the viaduct. A 36-year-old resident of Gmina Osiecznica was driving a Mercedes, crossed into the opposite lane and collided with an Opel Corsa. The Opel was driven by a 46-year-old resident of Gmina Warta Bolesławiecka. The struck Opel stopped on the pavement, near the skate park. The driver was taken to hospital. Fortunately, the 46-year-old did not suffer serious injuries and has already left the hospital. The Mercedes driver was under the influence of alcohol (2.34 per mille). In addition, the 36-year-old was banned from driving.
