Workshop participants warm up and then learn basic dance steps, such as toprock (a combination of arm and leg movements performed to the rhythm of the music before going down to the floor) and footwork (a legwork technique). Then, together with the instructors, they create simple dance routines. Next, the instructors introduce more difficult steps, which are added to the routine.
“We want to teach children the basics of gymnastics and acrobatics,” explains Kamil Nakonieczny.
“We are gradually trying to increase the level of difficulty so that the children continue to develop during the classes,” adds Paweł Klimek.
Paweł Klimek and Kamil Nakonieczny have been involved in breakdance for over twelve years. These are another series of joint classes they are leading at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre-International Ceramics Centre. The classes will continue until 20 July.
