The tragic incident occurred on Monday, 2 July. Four girls, approximately 15 years old, were swimming at the gravel pit behind the swimming pools. The area is unguarded. Police received a report from people relaxing by the water that the girls were behaving too loudly. While the patrol was on its way, police received another report that one of the girls had probably drowned.
An ambulance, the fire service and WOPR lifeguards were immediately called to the scene. After an hour of searching, a WOPR lifeguard found the girl's body approximately 30 metres from the shore. A prosecutor was present at the scene.
A similar tragedy occurred at this location two years ago. At that time, a 14-year-old boy drowned.
