Update

The cause of death is unknown. Investigators are examining the case; it is known, however, that the deceased was a resident of the Nowogrodziec municipality, approximately 50 years old.

Bolesławiec police confirmed that a man's body had been found in the Kwisa River.

Emergency services were called to the scene. Firefighters from OSP KSRG Nowogrodziec report that:

On 29 May 2025 at 3:34 p.m., we were dispatched to a person in the river in Parzyce. The incident was noticed by kayakers.

After the fire and rescue crews arrived, they began evacuating the person to the riverbank using water-rescue and safety equipment.

Unfortunately, first aid was not administered because there were clear signs of death. A police patrol remained at the scene. (...)

The rescue operation involved:

  • One unit with a boat from OSP KSRG Nowogrodziec.
  • Two units with a boat from JRG Bolesławiec.
  • The police.

Police officers are establishing the details of the tragic incident.
