The trial of a 65-year-old resident of Bolesławiec Stanisław H., who was charged by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra with claiming authorship of inventions—protected by patent law—concerning devices and methods for conducting the thermo-catalytic processing of plastic waste into liquid-fuel components and other products, has concluded.

According to investigators, H. misled representatives of two companies interested in purchasing these rights and devices, causing them to lose EUR 967,262.00. The 65-year-old did not plead guilty.

Nevertheless, the Jelenia Góra court found the Bolesławiec resident guilty of the acts of which he was accused and sentenced him to two years in prison, suspended for five years. What is more, H. must pay EUR 967,262.00 to the injured parties.
