As part of the “Social Revitalisation – Take Your Chance” programme, Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury-Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki, together with Miejski Ośrodek Pomocy Społecznej w Bolesławcu, are organising a series of outdoor events entitled “Classics in the Courtyard”, intended to bring classical music closer to residents of the revitalised area. The programme includes:
- 8 June, 8:00 p.m., Market Square – Krakowski Teatr Uliczny “Scena Kalejdoskop” will present an outdoor performance entitled “Circo Amaro”, telling the story of a samurai torn away from Japanese reality
- 9 June, 7:00 p.m., courtyard at 5 plac Zamkowy (former carpentry workshop) – a string quartet concert entitled “Gems of Classical Music”
- 15 June, 6:00 p.m., Market Square – a treat for all children! Zdrojowy Teatr Animacji will present a performance, featuring poems by Jan Brzechwa, including “Entliczek-Pentliczek”, “Kłamczucha”, “Samochwała” and “Kaczka-Dziwaczka”
- 16 June, 7:00 p.m., courtyard at ul. Sierpnia '80 (stairwells 4/6, 7/9 and 10/11) – a percussion quartet with the programme “The Enchanted World of Rhythm”. It will be one of the most spectacular chamber music concerts. Interestingly, Bolesławiec residents will have a unique opportunity to discover percussion instruments: both familiar ones and those that are completely unfamiliar
- 22 June, 7:00 p.m., courtyard at ul. Sierpnia '80 (stairwells 30/32, 36 and 37) – a piano trio will present the programme “From the Romantic Era to Film Music”. The concert will open with an outstanding work by Piotr Czajkowski. Melodies from such films as “Schindler’s List”, “Love Story”, “Scent of a Woman” and “Titanic” will also be performed
- 29 June, 10:00 p.m., Market Square – an exceptionally spectacular outdoor performance entitled “Fin Amor”. It will feature fire, stilt walkers and dynamic music. Together, they will create an extraordinary image telling a story of love
- 6 July, 7:00 p.m., Market Square – a concert by Filharmonia Zielonogórska with soloists. We will hear the finest arias and hits from musical theatres and operettas
- 7 July, 9:00 p.m., Market Square – Boska Komedia “Ghosts and Rock’n’Roll”, or The World Turned Upside Down in Malinowo – a satirical and musical show. The action will take place in a backward village where a mysterious newcomer appears.
The concerts in the “Classics in the Courtyard” series and the theatre performances are organised as part of the “Social Revitalisation – take your chance” programme, implemented under the Human Capital Operational Programme, Priority I – Employment and Social Integration, Measure 1.2 – System support for social assistance and integration institutions. The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund.
