Czy prezydent powinien w końcu sprzedać udziały w telewizji Azart-Sat?
Piotr Roman, president of Bolesławiec, issued an order appointing Mariusz Herba, head of the Organizational and Administrative Department of the Bolesławiec City Office, chairman of the supervisory board of Telewizja Lokalna Azart-Sat Sp. z o.o. Herba was appointed “for the period of the fifth term.” He receives PLN 600 each month for heading the board.
As early as November 2010, we wrote that, while inspecting Legnica, the Supreme Audit Office pointed out that the city was a co-owner of a private television station. The issue concerned a 0.4% stake. In Bolesławiec, the city holds as much as 40% of the local television station. And the councillors did nothing about it until this year. In February, the City Council unanimously adopted a resolution approving the sale of the Municipal Commune’s shares in the local television station. Their nominal value is PLN 57,000. To this day, the city has not disposed of the shares.
“The income is probably zero; there has never been a dividend in the company’s history. The television station made some profit or incurred some loss, but it allocated the funds to its operations,” President Piotr Roman explained in 2010. Nothing has changed to this day. The company generates no income for the city, and no dividend has been paid so far.
“At present, in order to sell the 40 percent stake held by the Bolesławiec Municipal Commune, it is first necessary to assess the company’s market value. This task will be entrusted to a selected expert,” says Agnieszka Gergont, press spokesperson for the City Office. The exact date for beginning the valuation has not yet been set, although, knowing the approach of the councillors and the president, we suspect that it will not take place before the 2014 elections.
