We return to the sale of Telewizja Bolesławiec, which we reported on earlier. As we described in the article, the television station’s shares were bought out by the private company Medask, in which shares are held by people connected with St. Łukasz Hospital. The new documents we obtained show the exact value of the transaction.
On March 4, an agreement was signed for the sale of the 40% stake owned by the Municipality of Bolesławiec. The price was set at 700 złoty per share, giving a total of 79,800 złoty.
At the same time, the net book value of the entire company was 96,150.73 złoty, meaning that the 40% stake corresponded to 38,460.29 złoty. The nominal value of the shares was 500 złoty per share, or 57,000 złoty in total. Ultimately, the stake was sold for 79,800 złoty—above both its nominal and book value.
Rent in the city center
The new information also concerns the lease terms for the premises on Asnyka Street—one of Bolesławiec’s main streets, where the television station operates.
The annex provided shows that the total monthly net amount payable to the Municipal Housing Management Authority is 3312.50 złoty.
This amount includes, among other things:
- basic rent: 171.70 m² × 9.97 złoty,
- additional areas charged at rates of 23.49 złoty and 4.76 złoty per m²,
- advance payments for utilities, including water, sewage and central heating.
The figures show that the rates—particularly for part of the premises—are relatively low for a unit in the very center of the city, on the ground floor, next to the main pedestrian street.
What happens after the change of ownership?
Let us recall: as a result of the transaction, Medask became the sole owner of Telewizja Bolesławiec, bringing to an end the period when the medium was co-created by the local government and the local community.
The television station is still broadcasting the same program as before. Will the new owner also pay 3,300 złoty for almost 200 m²? Nothing indicates that this will change.
