Tomek Wachnowski will promote his new album, “I Like These Songs”. At the concert, he will sing and play songs by the “Wolna Grupa Bukowina” band, as well as songs from his own albums: “Śniegowice”, “Byłoby miło”, “Bo jak Cię mam zapomnieć”, and selected works by Grechuta, Kofta, Kaczmarski and Brassens. Tomek Wachnowski will be accompanied by guitarist Bogdan Sabała, cellist Dorota Straburzyńska and guitarist Mirek Kuc, who will travel to the concert especially from Rome.
Wachnowski took part in the Festival of Polish Song in Opole three times. In 1995 and ’96, he performed in the “Krainy Łagodności” concerts, and in 1999 he appeared in the “Premiery” concert. He performed the composition “Byłoby miło” then. The song was enthusiastically received by the Opole audience and was also appreciated by the jury. In a vote held by local television stations, it took second place, immediately after Ryszard Rynkowski.
Another important event in Tomek Wachnowski’s creative work was preparing the theme song for the film “Asterix and Obelix vs. Caesar”. It is worth noting that the artist was selected from among many Polish vocalists by the song’s composer himself, Jean Jacques Goldman.
Wachnowski’s concert will take place at Forum Cinema on 24 May at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be reserved on the Forum Cinema website. The concert will be recorded in its entirety by the BOK-MCC Film Education Workshop and released on DVD.
