The open day at the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec took place on Friday, 13 April. Middle-school students from the entire county could tour the school, watch an artistic programme performed by II LO students, and take part in demonstration lessons.

“The event was held under the slogan ‘II LO – more than a school’,” says Mirosław Sakowski, the school’s headmaster. “We wanted to present the full range of our activities. This school focuses not only on the intellectual development of its students. We also try to develop their interests and passions. Among other things, we organise musical performances and photography exhibitions.

According to Sakowski, II LO has the best educational facilities of all the upper-secondary schools in Bolesławiec. “We have a modern building, a beautiful gymnasium and a modern Orlik sports complex,” the headmaster lists. “An excellent teaching staff works here: 19 of them are certified teachers. It is worth adding that last year our students achieved the best results in Bolesławiec in the matura examination.

Moreover, from September 2012 the school will provide scholarships for the most talented students (PLN 100–150 per month).
