The Stanisław Merdas Memorial (founded by the Bolesłavia club) has been held for six years. The event is becoming increasingly popular each year. This year’s Memorial was attended, among others, by the Lower Silesian voivodeship team, coached by first-class athletics coach Tomasz Markowski. Nearly 180 athletes (including competitors from clubs such as MKS Osa Zgorzelec, Górnik Wałbrzych, Szok Bojanowo, MKS Piast Lwówek Śląski, MKS Szerszeń Bogatynia and Uczniak Szprotawa) competed in four events: the palant ball throw, shot put, discus throw and javelin throw.
As part of cooperation with the Occupational Therapy Workshops in Bolesławiec, events for people with disabilities were also held.
The Stanisław Merdas Memorial was co-financed by the Bolesławiec County authorities and the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Istotne.pl was the event’s media patron. Prizes were funded, among others, by the Ziemia Bolesławiecka Association.
