– This year, two students of II Liceum Ogólnokształcące qualified for the district stage of the Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament: Anna Latosińska and Mateusz Kopeć – says “ii” Mieczysław Szwed, a teacher of national defense preparation and social studies. In the upper-secondary school category, Mateusz came first and Anna took second place.
– I have been taking part in the Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament since the fourth grade of primary school – the third-year student says. – My brother took part in this competition earlier, so I followed in his footsteps – he adds. The result? Five victories at the district stage. – When Mateusz and I competed in the same age category, I always came second – Anna, a second-year student, says with a smile. – When he was in the first year of secondary school, I won in the lower-secondary school category.
The achievements of both students are not a matter of chance – Anna and Mateusz were both members of the Youth Firefighting Team operating at the Volunteer Fire Department in Trzebień.
Mateusz will represent our district at the voivodeship level.
