The city signed the contract with Hydrobudowa 6 S.A. for the “Sewer System in the City of Bolesławiec” task on 12 May. The value of the signed contract is more than €8.5 million. The relevant documents were signed by Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman and, on behalf of Hydrobudowa, President Marek Sochanowicz and proxy Krzysztof Pasternak.
Hydrobudowa 6 S.A. has operated in the construction market for more than 50 years and has completed numerous construction projects. The contract for Bolesławiec will be carried out by one of the company’s four branches—the Comprehensive Engineering Construction Branch from Warsaw.
As part of the task, approximately 29 km of municipal sewer network will be built in total. The construction of around 7 km of combined sewerage will increase the capacity of the existing channels. They will be relieved by the parallel construction of new channels. The remaining part of the new sewer system will serve to provide infrastructure for 44 hectares of industrial land and new areas designated for development, as well as to connect to the sewer system those areas where cesspools are currently used.
As a reminder, on 16 August 2002, a Financial Memorandum was signed between the European Commission and the Republic of Poland. It established the terms for granting assistance under the Instrument for Structural Policies for Pre-Accession (ISPA) to the Municipality of Bolesławiec for the “Wastewater Treatment in Bolesławiec” project. According to the Memorandum, the project comprises four tasks: “Contract Engineer and Technical Assistance for the PIU Bolesławiec,” “Expansion of the Sewer System in Rural Areas,” “Modernization of the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant,” and “Modernization and Expansion of the Municipal Sewer System.”
