In May 2010, an open letter from Cezary Przybylski to the residents of the town and municipality of Nowogrodziec was published. The starosta promised, among other things, to rebuild the road in Czerna, renovate the road in Gościszów, build bus bays and a pavement along the road in Wykroty, as well as build a pavement on Słowackiego Street in Nowogrodziec.
In the letter, the starosta assured residents that he would make every effort so that, within a few months, the residents of the aforementioned localities could use the new roads and pavements. In a letter to the editorial office, our reader wrote: “Almost two years have passed, and there is still no pavement. Does the honourable Mr Starosta intend to keep his promise? I sent a letter asking for an explanation. I received no response”.
The Starosty spokesperson replied that the starosta had promised to carry out a number of investments and renovations if the Nowogrodziec municipality provided financial support according to the already tested “half-and-half” principle. So far, the road in Czerna has been rebuilt, a pavement has been built along the road in Gierałtów, and bus bays and a pavement have been built along the road in Wykroty.
– For the current year, the Starosty has planned the renovation of the road in Gościszów – spokesperson Katarzyna Biegasiewicz-Mularczyk replies. – The construction of a pavement on Słowackiego Street in Nowogrodziec is an investment included in the plan of the District Roads Authority. This means that it is on the list of projects to be completed within 2–3 years. Investments are planned according to the municipality’s priorities; what is more important is carried out faster – Biegasiewicz-Mularczyk adds.
