The main reason for organizing Tuesday’s Civic Platform convention in Bolesławiec County was the need to elect a new party chairman. The position became vacant after the resignation of the incumbent chairman, Cezary Przybylski, whom the party’s county structures put forward as a candidate for parliament.
Cezary Przybylski is currently the first officially announced parliamentary candidate from our county. His electoral prospects will be affected by his position on the ballot, which will be decided by the party’s regional and national authorities.
Only one candidate, Karol Stasik, was nominated in the election for the new chairman of Civic Platform in the county. He was one of the founders and the first leader of Civic Platform in Bolesławiec. The delegates supported his candidacy by a decisive majority.
The Bolesławiec convention also discussed the local elections to be held next year. The party’s municipal structures will have to decide whether to run independently or in a coalition.
