Bolesławiec police officers conducted a “Van” operation on January 14 (from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). In recent years, the number of private carriers has risen sharply, as has the number of accidents involving buses and trucks. The recurring “Van” operation is intended to improve the safety of passengers and other road users.
Officers inspected 124 vehicles. They seized 35 registration certificates (mainly because of the poor technical condition of the vehicles; a total of 10 vans and buses were found to be unroadworthy) and issued 35 fines (including 24 for exceeding the speed limit). In addition, three drunk drivers and a driver subject to a court-ordered ban on driving motor vehicles were apprehended by police.
Coach inspections to be carried out
During the winter holidays, police officers will carry out intensified inspections of coaches’ technical condition for the safety of children and young people. Requests for such inspections should be made by calling: 75 649 62 23.
