In December, BOK-MCC invites the residents of Bolesławiec to a pre-Christmas gathering in the Market Square. This year’s event slogan is “You, too, can become an angel”. On Saturday, 17 December, the Angel Happening will begin (the finale of the “You, too, can become an angel” workshops); everyone will be able to make angel wings and present the result of their work to the audience gathered in the Market Square.
A ceramic fair will be held in a special Angel Town, where visitors will be able to purchase Christmas gifts. The “Bolesławiec” Municipal Brass Band and the “Haus der Begegnung” Choir from Kamenz will perform that day. Polish and German artists will perform Christmas carols and invite residents to sing together.
Another item on the programme will be the Bolesławiec Star of Kindness, when guests from Poland and Germany will offer their greetings, and the residents of Bolesławiec will traditionally share the Christmas wafer.
The True Theatre will perform a Street Nativity Play. There will also be a nativity scene with live animals, Santa Claus reading Polish and German fairy tales, a tasting of Christmas Eve dishes, and a demonstration of bauble painting.
The “You, too, can become an angel” project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and by funds from the state budget, with the support of Euroregion Nysa.
