The audience in Bolesławiec had the opportunity to see a performance by the Russian National Ballet. The Nutcracker is a ballet that reveals to viewers the secrets of the world of children’s imagination. It is one of the best-known timeless works in the world, touching the hearts of audiences regardless of age.
– Last year, we hosted artists from Russia with the ballet Swan Lake – says Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska, director of BOK-MCC. – After the performance, the company’s manager said that dancing on the Forum stage was such a pleasure that he would gladly return with another production. I replied that it would be an honour for me.
The story of Christmas Eve, during which a little girl named Klara wants to see what presents are hidden under the Christmas tree, appealed to both adults and children.
– There were also families with children in the auditorium, even though the tickets were relatively expensive – says Iwona Bojko, deputy director of BOK-MCC. – I noticed a couple who had come with two children. The older daughter looked very pleased, while the younger son left the auditorium with flushed cheeks. He was delighted and was deeply moved by his encounter with a ballet of exceptional quality. It was lovely to watch that child’s delight – she adds.
The performance was created by choreographer and company director Siergiej Radchenko, who was the partner of world-famous prima ballerina Maja Plisiecka for 25 years. Among other works, he partnered her in the famous Carmen (G. Bizet – R. Shchedrin). He is passionate about Spanish music and dance. He also worked as a choreographer on numerous film productions.
The Russian National Ballet is a company that has impressed audiences with its artistry for years, earning enormous popularity as a result. Its success is due above all to its perfection in classical dance technique.
