Michał Bajor is promoting his new two-disc album, also titled “Od Piaf do Garou”, with the concert. He gave one of the first concerts in Bolesławiec. He presented immortal hits and recalled the stars of French song.
In his stories and songs, Edit Piaf, Georges Brassens, Yves Montand, Charles Aznavour, Joe Dassin and Jacques Brel came to life. Lightly jazz-inflected arrangements of well-known hits were prepared for Bajor by Wojciech Borkowski. The lyrics of the French songs were translated by Wojciech Młynarski.
The artist presented a rich and dramatically well-conceived show composed of his own interpretations of songs and very interesting anecdotes about chanson singers from the Paris stages. An interesting choice was his interpretation of “Nathalie” by Gilbert Bécaud. But the audience was left speechless after his performance of “Rien de Rien” – a great hit by Edit Piaf, with which Bajor ended his third encore after the concert. Michał Bajor took on the role of Edit and sang the song with the original musical accompaniment. This mini-show transported the Bolesławiec audience to the stage of the Paris “Olympia”, a music theatre where the great French bards took their first steps and triumphantly won the hearts of the audience.
