Chase through several counties

The man posed a danger to other road users. The chase quickly began to resemble scenes from American movies. The driver fled through Jawor County, then entered Kamienna Góra County and Wałbrzych County.

Police officers from additional units joined the operation. The officers had to assess the situation on an ongoing basis and take action while considering the safety of other road users.

During the escape, a collision with a police car occurred. Fortunately, the incident had no serious consequences.

Ultimately, after a chase lasting nearly 120 kilometers, the driver was arrested by a patrol in Boguszów-Gorce, on Wrzosowa Street.

He Was Wanted and Had No Driving Privileges

During further proceedings, police determined why the 38-year-old may have tried to avoid the check. The Wrocław resident was wanted by the District Court for Wrocław-Krzyki in connection with previously driving despite an active court-ordered ban. He was sentenced to six months in prison for that offense.

A check of police databases also showed that his driving privileges had been revoked since 2022.

Police determined that he was not under the influence of alcohol. However, his blood was ordered to be collected for laboratory testing to determine whether he had been driving under the influence of drugs.

He Faces Another Penalty

The detainee will be taken to a pre-trial detention center and then transported to a prison in connection with the previously imposed sentence.

However, this is not the end of his problems. The man will also face charges for failing to stop for a traffic check and continuing to drive despite an order from an authorized person to stop the vehicle, creating a danger in road traffic, and driving a car despite having his driving privileges revoked.

For the new offenses, the 38-year-old faces up to five years in prison, a lifetime driving ban and a substantial fine. The car he fled in was towed to a guarded municipal parking lot at the driver's expense.

Police emphasize that the arrest was possible thanks to cooperation between officers from several counties.
